This is good news.

Not only has Disney announced that Joss Whedon will direct the sequel to his billion-dollar superhero blockbuster (BDSB) – he’ll be developing a Marvel TV show – set in the same universe as The Avengers.

Word from i09.com is that this TV show won’t be featuring any of the actual Avengers, but will be set in an amongst S.H.I.E.L.D.’s scientists, operatives and super heroes. With Whedon developing, we can safely say it’s off to a pretty decent start, but don’t expect anything until at least 2013.
